Stuffed Meat Pancakes (erachi Pathiri)
Stuffed Meat Pancakes, also known as Erachi Pathiri, are a popular dish from the Kerala Cuisine. These delicious pancakes are filled with a flavorful meat mixture and then fried to perfection.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 lb ground meat (chicken, beef, or lamb)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, water, and salt to form a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- In a pan, cook the ground meat with onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt until the meat is fully cooked. Set aside to cool.
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a small circle. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center and fold the dough over to form a semi-circle. Press the edges to seal.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the stuffed pancakes until golden brown on both sides.
- Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
