Stuffed Paplet (goan Style Stuffed Pomfret)
Stuffed Paplet is a classic Goan dish that features a whole pomfret fish stuffed with a flavorful masala mixture and then cooked to perfection. This dish is a must-try for seafood lovers and is a popular choice for special occasions and gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 whole pomfret fish, cleaned and gutted
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Make 2-3 slits on both sides of the fish.
- In a bowl, mix ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, lemon juice, and salt to form a thick paste.
- Stuff the masala mixture inside the slits of the fish and apply the remaining mixture on the surface of the fish.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and carefully place the stuffed fish in the pan.
- Cook for 10-12 minutes on each side or until the fish is cooked through and golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
