Stuffed Peppers with Rice and Beef (Speca të Mbushur)
Speca të Mbushur, or Stuffed Peppers with Rice and Beef, is a traditional Kosovan dish that is both hearty and flavorful. This dish is perfect for a family dinner or a gathering with friends, and it's sure to impress with its delicious combination of ingredients.
Ingredients
- 4 large bell peppers
- 1 cup of rice
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup of olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.
- In a large bowl, combine the rice, ground beef, onion, tomatoes, garlic, paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, and parsley.
- Stuff the bell peppers with the rice and beef mixture.
- Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish and drizzle with olive oil.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the filling is cooked through.
- Serve the stuffed peppers hot and enjoy!
