Stuffed Potato Bonda

Ingredients

  • 3 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, chopped onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, garam masala, cumin seeds, coriander leaves, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth filling.
  2. In a separate bowl, prepare the gram flour batter by mixing gram flour, red chili powder, baking soda, and salt. Add water gradually to form a smooth, lump-free batter.
  3. Take a small portion of the potato filling and shape it into a ball. Dip the ball into the gram flour batter, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Carefully drop the coated potato balls into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
