Ingredients
- 3 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- 1 cup gram flour (besan)
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, chopped onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, garam masala, cumin seeds, coriander leaves, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth filling.
- In a separate bowl, prepare the gram flour batter by mixing gram flour, red chili powder, baking soda, and salt. Add water gradually to form a smooth, lump-free batter.
- Take a small portion of the potato filling and shape it into a ball. Dip the ball into the gram flour batter, ensuring it is evenly coated.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Carefully drop the coated potato balls into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the bondas from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Serve the stuffed potato bondas hot with chutney or ketchup.
