Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork belly
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp five-spice powder
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Score the pork belly skin and rub with salt and five-spice powder. Let it sit for 30 minutes.
  2. Boil the pork belly in water for 15 minutes, then drain and pat dry.
  3. Heat a pan over medium heat and sear the pork belly until the skin is crispy.
  4. In a separate pan, sauté the garlic until fragrant, then add soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and water. Simmer until the sauce thickens.
