Sun Jiao Ji (bamboo Shoots With Chicken)

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken breast, sliced
  • 200g fresh bamboo shoots, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, salt, and white pepper. Set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok over high heat. Add the garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
  3. Add the chicken and stir-fry until it is no longer pink.
  4. Add the bamboo shoots and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and the sauce mixture. Bring to a boil.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry. Pour the slurry into the wok and stir until the sauce thickens.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
