Sunshine Pickles

Ingredients

  • 4 cups sliced cucumbers
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the sliced cucumbers and onions.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the white vinegar, water, sugar, salt, mustard seeds, and turmeric. Bring to a boil.
  3. Pour the hot liquid over the cucumbers and onions. Let it cool to room temperature.
  4. Transfer the pickles to jars and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.
