Sure Jell Freezer Jam
Sure Jell Freezer Jam is a quick and easy way to preserve the fresh flavors of summer fruits. This recipe requires no canning and results in a delicious jam that can be stored in the freezer for up to a year.
Ingredients
- 4 cups crushed fresh fruit (strawberries, raspberries, or blackberries)
- 4 cups granulated sugar
- 1 package Sure Jell fruit pectin
- 3/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the crushed fruit and sugar together. Let it stand for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a separate saucepan, mix the Sure Jell pectin and water. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat.
- Pour the pectin mixture into the fruit mixture and stir for 3 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Ladle the jam into clean jars or plastic containers, leaving 1/2 inch space at the top for expansion during freezing. Cover with lids and let stand at room temperature for 24 hours to set.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks or in the freezer for up to 1 year.
