Ingredients
- 4 egg whites
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°F (95°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg whites on high speed until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the sugar, vanilla extract, and cream of tartar while continuing to beat the mixture until stiff peaks form.
- Using a piping bag or spoon, drop small mounds of the meringue onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 2 hours, or until the suspiros are dry and crisp on the outside.
- Allow the suspiros to cool completely before serving.
