Sutliash (crimean Tatar Rice Pudding)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup short-grain rice
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ground cinnamon, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the rice and milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Add the sugar and vanilla extract to the pot and continue to cook for another 10 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened.
