Sutlija (albanian Rice Pudding)
Sutlija is a traditional Albanian rice pudding that is creamy, comforting, and perfect for a sweet treat. This dessert is easy to make and is a popular dish in Kosovan cuisine.
Ingredients
- 1 cup short-grain rice
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Ground cinnamon, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the rice, milk, sugar, and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened.
- Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
