Swedish Almond Cake (Svensk Mandeltårta)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the almond flour, sugar, melted butter, eggs, almond extract, and salt until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  4. Sprinkle the sliced almonds evenly over the top of the batter.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
