Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine 1 cup flour, granulated sugar, salt, and yeast.
- In a small saucepan, heat the milk and melted butter until warm.
- Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and beat for 2 minutes.
- Add the egg and 1/2 cup flour, beat until smooth.
- Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
- Turn onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
- Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Roll the dough into a 12x7-inch rectangle.
- Spread softened butter over dough.
- Combine brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over dough.
- Roll up jelly-roll style, starting from a long side.
- Place seam side down on a greased baking sheet.
- Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack.
