Ingredients

  • 4 fish fillets (such as snapper or grouper)
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Coat the fish fillets in cornstarch.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry the fish until crispy. Set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté the onion, bell peppers, and garlic until fragrant.
  4. Combine vinegar, sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, salt, pepper, and water in a bowl to make the sauce.
  5. Pour the sauce over the sautéed vegetables and simmer for a few minutes.
  6. Add the fried fish to the pan and coat it with the sweet and sour sauce.
