Sweet And Sour Paneer
Sweet and Sour Paneer is a popular Indo-Chinese dish that combines the flavors of sweet and sour with the rich and creamy texture of paneer. This dish is a perfect blend of Indian and Chinese cuisines, and it's quick and easy to make at home.
Ingredients
- 250g paneer, cut into cubes
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 3 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- 1 tsp garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the paneer cubes and fry until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add more oil if needed and sauté the onions, bell peppers, ginger, and garlic until they are soft.
- Add the tomatoes, tomato ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Cook for a few minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to make a slurry. Add this slurry to the pan and stir well to thicken the sauce.
- Add the fried paneer cubes to the sauce and mix gently to coat the paneer with the sweet and sour sauce.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
