Sweet And Sour Paneer

Ingredients

  • 250g paneer, cut into cubes
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the paneer cubes and fry until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add more oil if needed and sauté the onions, bell peppers, ginger, and garlic until they are soft.
  4. Add the tomatoes, tomato ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Cook for a few minutes.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to make a slurry. Add this slurry to the pan and stir well to thicken the sauce.
  6. Add the fried paneer cubes to the sauce and mix gently to coat the paneer with the sweet and sour sauce.
  7. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
