Ingredients
- 500g spare ribs, cut into individual pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Coat the spare ribs in cornstarch.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat and brown the spare ribs on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the sugar, rice vinegar, soy sauce, ketchup, and water. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the bell peppers, onion, garlic, and ginger to the pan. Cook until the vegetables are slightly softened.
- Return the spare ribs to the pan and coat them in the sweet and sour sauce. Simmer for 30 minutes, or until the spare ribs are tender.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
