Sweet Chili Tofu (甜辣豆腐)

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, drained and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu between paper towels to remove excess moisture, then cut into cubes.
  2. Coat the tofu cubes in cornstarch.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the tofu until golden brown on all sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Return the tofu to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
