Sweet Fudge Cheesecake (mysore Pak Cheesecake)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup besan (gram flour)
  • 1 cup ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (cashews, almonds, pistachios)
  • 1/4 cup chocolate fudge sauce
  • 1/4 cup whipped cream
  • 1/4 cup chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. In a heavy-bottomed pan, roast the besan in ghee over low heat until it turns aromatic and golden brown. This will take about 15-20 minutes. Stir continuously to avoid burning.
  2. Add sugar to the roasted besan and mix well. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan. This is the Mysore Pak base. Spread it in a greased pan and let it cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, condensed milk, powdered sugar, cardamom powder, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cooled Mysore Pak base, spreading it evenly.
  5. Drizzle the chocolate fudge sauce over the cream cheese layer and use a toothpick to create a marble effect.
  6. Refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours or overnight to set.
  7. Before serving, garnish with whipped cream, chopped nuts, and chocolate shavings.
