Жент (Sweet Jent) is a traditional Kyrgyz dessert made with wheat, milk, and sugar. It is a simple and comforting sweet dish that is perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.
Ingredients
- 2 cups wheat grains
- 4 cups milk
- 1 cup sugar
Instructions
- Wash the wheat grains and soak them in water for 2 hours.
- Drain the soaked wheat grains and place them in a pot.
- Add milk to the pot and bring it to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the wheat grains are soft and the mixture thickens.
- Add sugar to the pot and stir until it dissolves completely.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let the sweet jent cool for a few minutes before serving.
