Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix the warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add the yeast mixture and vegetable oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let the dough rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a long stick.
- Place the pastry sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let the pastry sticks cool, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
