Sweet Rice Dumplings (ela Ada)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rice flour
  • 1 cup grated jaggery
  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 10 banana leaves, cut into squares

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix rice flour, jaggery, grated coconut, mashed bananas, cardamom powder, and a pinch of salt to form a smooth dough.
  2. Take a banana leaf square and place a portion of the dough in the center. Flatten the dough and fold the banana leaf to form a packet. Repeat for the remaining dough.
  3. Steam the dumplings in a steamer for 15 minutes until cooked through.
  4. Once done, remove the dumplings from the steamer and allow them to cool slightly before serving.
