Ingredients
- 2 cups tamarind pulp
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine tamarind pulp, brown sugar, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add ground cumin, ground ginger, cayenne pepper, and salt to the saucepan. Continue to simmer for another 20 minutes, until the chutney thickens.
- Remove from heat and let the chutney cool to room temperature. Transfer to a sterilized jar and refrigerate until ready to serve.
