Ingredients

  • 1 lb sweetbreads, soaked and cleaned

Instructions

  1. Coat the sweetbreads in flour and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, melt 2 tbsp of butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the sweetbreads and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Remove the sweetbreads from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and flour to make a roux.
  6. Slowly pour in the white wine and chicken broth, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Return the sweetbreads to the skillet and simmer for an additional 10 minutes, until the sweetbreads are cooked through and the sauce is thick and creamy.
  9. Serve the sweetbreads with the French-style sauce and enjoy!
