Ingredients

  • 2 cups of cooked chickpeas
  • 4 pita bread rounds, cut into small squares
  • 2 cups of plain yogurt
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup of tahini
  • 1/4 cup of pine nuts
  • 1/4 cup of chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of butter

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat and fry the pita bread squares until crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, melt the butter and toast the pine nuts until golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix the yogurt, minced garlic, tahini, and salt to taste. Spread the yogurt mixture in a serving dish.
  4. Top the yogurt mixture with the cooked chickpeas.
  5. Sprinkle the crispy pita bread squares over the chickpeas.
  6. Garnish with toasted pine nuts, chopped parsley, ground cumin, and paprika.
