Ingredients
- 1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, cut into cubes
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, minced
- 2-3 green onions, chopped
- 1-2 tbsp Sichuan peppercorns
- 3-4 dried red chili peppers
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Chinese cooking wine
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable broth
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tsp water
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok over high heat.
- Add Sichuan peppercorns and dried red chili peppers, and stir-fry until fragrant.
- Add garlic, ginger, and green onions, and stir-fry for another minute.
- Add tofu cubes and stir-fry until lightly browned.
- Pour in soy sauce, cooking wine, sugar, and vegetable broth. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the cornstarch mixture and stir until the sauce thickens.
- Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot.
