Szechuan Tofu Stir-fry
Szechuan Tofu Stir-Fry is a popular dish in Indian Chinese cuisine, known for its bold flavors and spicy kick. This vegetarian stir-fry is packed with protein and a variety of colorful vegetables, making it a healthy and satisfying meal option.
Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, cubed
- 2 tablespoons Szechuan sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup snap peas
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into cubes.
- In a small bowl, mix the Szechuan sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden brown on all sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the onion, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the bell peppers and snap peas to the pan. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Return the tofu to the pan and pour the Szechuan sauce mixture over the tofu and vegetables. Toss to coat everything evenly.
- Season with salt and pepper, then garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
