Taco Time Hot Sauce
Spice up your taco night with this homemade taco time hot sauce! This zesty and flavorful hot sauce is the perfect addition to any taco, burrito, or Mexican-inspired dish.
Ingredients
- 6-8 dried guajillo chilies
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the dried guajillo chilies for 2-3 minutes, until fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Remove the stems and seeds from the chilies, then place them in a bowl and cover with boiling water. Let soak for 15 minutes.
- After soaking, drain the chilies and transfer them to a blender.
- Add the minced garlic, white vinegar, salt, cumin, oregano, paprika, sugar, and water to the blender.
- Blend until smooth, adding more water if needed to reach your desired consistency.
- Transfer the hot sauce to a sterilized jar or bottle and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
