Tacos De Pescado (honduran Fish Tacos)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh white fish fillets
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  2. Rub the spice mixture onto both sides of the fish fillets.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook the fish for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until it is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Warm the corn tortillas in a separate skillet or in the oven.
  6. Assemble the tacos by placing a portion of fish onto each tortilla, then topping with shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, cilantro, and red onion.
  7. Serve with lime wedges for squeezing over the tacos.
