Tacos Laham (yemeni Spiced Beef Tacos)
Tacos Laham, also known as Yemeni Spiced Beef Tacos, are a delicious fusion of Yemeni and Mexican flavors. Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) beef, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup (60ml) olive oil
- 8 small flour tortillas
- Optional toppings: chopped tomatoes, lettuce, yogurt, and hot sauce
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the beef, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, turmeric, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat the beef evenly with the spices.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the spiced beef mixture and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the beef is browned and cooked through.
- Warm the flour tortillas in a separate skillet or in the oven.
- Assemble the Tacos Laham by placing a portion of the spiced beef onto each tortilla. Add your choice of toppings, such as chopped tomatoes, lettuce, yogurt, and hot sauce.
