Tahitian Tuna Tartare

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sushi-grade tuna
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup cucumber, finely diced
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic to make the marinade.
  2. Cut the tuna into small cubes and add it to the marinade. Gently toss to coat the tuna. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
  3. After marinating, add the green onions, cucumber, avocado, and sesame seeds to the tuna. Gently toss to combine.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
  5. Divide the tuna tartare into serving dishes and serve immediately.
