Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • 1 teaspoon tamarind paste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu cubes between paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a bowl, mix the sweet soy sauce, tamarind paste, minced garlic, and salt. Add the tofu cubes and marinate for 10 minutes.
  3. Coat the marinated tofu cubes in flour.
  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the tofu cubes until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove the fried tofu from the pan and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  6. Serve the fried tofu with sweet soy sauce on the side for dipping.
