Tahu Goreng Pedas (spicy Fried Tofu)

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, cut into cubes
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 red chilies, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon of tamarind paste
  • 1 teaspoon of palm sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Heat the cooking oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Fry the tofu cubes until they turn golden brown, then remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté the shallots, garlic, and red chilies until fragrant.
  4. Add the tamarind paste, palm sugar, and salt, then stir well.
  5. Return the fried tofu to the pan and mix until the tofu is coated with the spicy seasoning.
  6. Remove from heat and serve hot.
