Tahu Isi Babi (steamed Stuffed Tofu With Minced Pork)

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of firm tofu
  • 200g minced pork
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 stalk green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the tofu by cutting each piece in half horizontally to create a pocket for the filling.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the minced pork, egg, garlic, onion, green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stuff the tofu pockets with the minced pork mixture.
  4. Coat the stuffed tofu with cornstarch.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and fry the stuffed tofu until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  6. Place the fried stuffed tofu in a steaming dish and steam for 15 minutes.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
