Tahu Isi Daging Pedas (stuffed Tofu With Spicy Minced Beef)

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of firm tofu
  • 300g minced beef
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 red chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp shrimp paste
  • 1 tsp tamarind paste
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the tofu by cutting a slit in the middle to create a pocket for the filling.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the shallots, garlic, and chilies until fragrant.
  3. Add the minced beef and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the shrimp paste, tamarind paste, sugar, and salt. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. Stuff the tofu with the spicy minced beef mixture.
  6. Heat oil in a pan and fry the stuffed tofu until golden brown.
  7. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve the Tahu Isi Daging Pedas hot with steamed rice.
