Tahu Isi Kuah Pedas (stuffed Tofu In Spicy Broth)

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of firm tofu
  • 100g ground chicken
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red chili, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon shrimp paste
  • 1 teaspoon tamarind paste
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground chicken, shallot, garlic, red chili, shrimp paste, and tamarind paste. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Cut the tofu pieces in half and scoop out the center to create a hollow space. Stuff the tofu with the chicken mixture.
  3. Heat the cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the stuffed tofu until golden brown. Set aside.
  4. In a pot, bring the vegetable broth to a boil. Add the fried stuffed tofu and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Adjust the seasoning if needed and serve the Tahu Isi Kuah Pedas hot.
