Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of firm tofu
  • 100g bean sprouts
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 shallots, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 red chili, finely chopped
  • 150g roasted peanuts, finely ground
  • 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tamarind paste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the tofu by cutting a slit in the middle to create a pocket for the filling.
  2. Stuff the tofu with a mixture of bean sprouts and beaten eggs.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the stuffed tofu until golden brown. Set aside.
  4. In a separate pan, sauté shallots, garlic, and red chili until fragrant.
  5. Add ground peanuts, sweet soy sauce, tamarind paste, sugar, and salt. Cook until the sauce thickens.
  6. Serve the stuffed tofu with the peanut chili sauce on top.
