Tahu Isi Sambal (stuffed Tofu In Spicy Sauce)

Ingredients
- 4 pieces of firm tofu
- 100g bean sprouts
- 2 eggs
- 3 shallots, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 red chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tsp shrimp paste
- 1 tsp tamarind paste
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Prepare the tofu by cutting a slit in the middle to create a pocket for the filling.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the tofu until golden brown. Set aside.
- In a separate pan, sauté the shallots, garlic, and chilies until fragrant.
- Add the bean sprouts, shrimp paste, tamarind paste, sugar, and salt. Cook for a few minutes until the bean sprouts are tender.
- Stuff the tofu pockets with the bean sprout mixture.
- Dip the stuffed tofu in beaten eggs and fry until golden brown.
- Drain the excess oil and serve the stuffed tofu with the spicy sauce.
