Ingredients
- 250g minced beef
- 4 pieces of firm tofu
- 2 shallots, finely chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 red chilies, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon of shrimp paste
- 1 teaspoon of tamarind paste
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon of cooking oil
- 1 egg
- 1 stalk of green onion, finely chopped
Instructions
- In a pan, heat the cooking oil and sauté the shallots, garlic, and red chilies until fragrant.
- Add the minced beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in the shrimp paste, tamarind paste, sugar, salt, ground coriander, and ground cumin. Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool.
- Cut the tofu in half and scoop out the center to create a pocket for the filling.
- Stuff the tofu with the beef mixture.
- Beat the egg and dip the stuffed tofu into the egg wash.
- Deep fry the stuffed tofu until golden brown.
- Serve the Tahu Isi Sapi Pedas hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
