Tahu Isi Saus Kacang (stuffed Tofu With Peanut Sauce)

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of firm tofu
  • 100g bean sprouts
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 red chili, finely chopped
  • 1 cup peanuts, roasted and ground
  • 2 tbsp sweet soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp tamarind paste
  • 1 tsp palm sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the tofu by cutting a slit in the middle to create a pocket for the filling.
  2. Blanch the bean sprouts in boiling water for 1 minute, then drain and set aside.
  3. Beat the eggs and mix with the blanched bean sprouts, then stuff the mixture into the tofu pockets.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and fry the stuffed tofu until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. In a separate pan, sauté garlic, onion, and red chili until fragrant. Add the ground peanuts, sweet soy sauce, tamarind paste, palm sugar, and salt. Cook until the sauce thickens.
  6. Serve the stuffed tofu with the peanut sauce on top.
