Tahu Isi (stuffed Tofu Puffs)

Ingredients

  • 12 tofu puffs
  • 1 carrot, finely grated
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup bean sprouts
  • 1/4 cup chopped spring onions
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground white pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Carefully cut the top of each tofu puff and scoop out the center to create a hollow space for the filling.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the grated carrot, chopped onion, minced garlic, bean sprouts, spring onions, salt, pepper, and sugar.
  3. Stuff each tofu puff with the vegetable mixture, pressing gently to fill the hollow space completely.
  4. Lightly coat each stuffed tofu puff with all-purpose flour.
  5. In a pan, heat oil over medium heat and fry the stuffed tofu puffs until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  7. Serve the Tahu Isi hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
