Tahu Isi Udang (stuffed Tofu With Shrimp)

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of firm tofu
  • 200g shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 stalk green onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground white pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the tofu by cutting each piece in half horizontally to create a pocket for the filling.
  2. In a bowl, mix the shrimp, egg, garlic, green onion, salt, pepper, sesame oil, and sugar until well combined.
  3. Stuff each tofu pocket with the shrimp mixture.
  4. Coat the stuffed tofu with cornstarch.
  5. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the stuffed tofu until golden brown and the shrimp is cooked through.
  6. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
