Ingredients
- 1 block of tempeh, crumbled
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red chili, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- Salt to taste
- 4 tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and chopped red chili. Sauté until the onions are soft and translucent.
- Add the crumbled tempeh to the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric, and salt. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Warm the tortillas in a separate pan or in the microwave.
- Assemble the tacos by spooning the spicy tempeh filling onto the warm tortillas. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, and chopped cilantro.
- Serve the Tahu Pedas tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the tacos.
