Taiwanese Pork Dumplings (水餃)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 2 cups finely chopped napa cabbage
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package round dumpling wrappers
  • Water for sealing

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, napa cabbage, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Place a small spoonful of the pork mixture in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold the wrapper in half and press the edges together to seal, forming a half-moon shape.
  3. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and pork mixture.
  4. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully add the dumplings to the boiling water and cook for 4-5 minutes, or until they float to the surface and the filling is cooked through.
  5. Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and serve hot with dipping sauce.
