Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh corn kernels
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 12 banana leaves, cut into 12x12 inch squares

Instructions

  1. In a blender, blend the fresh corn kernels, sugar, butter, and salt until smooth.
  2. Place 2-3 tablespoons of the corn mixture in the center of each banana leaf square.
  3. Wrap the banana leaves around the corn mixture to form a tamale, then tie with kitchen twine.
  4. Place the tamales in a large steamer pot and steam for 1 hour.
  5. Let the tamales cool for a few minutes before serving.
