Ingredients
- 1 cup tamarind pulp
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Ice cubes for serving
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the tamarind pulp and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Strain the tamarind mixture through a fine mesh sieve, pressing to extract all the liquid. Discard the solids.
- Return the tamarind liquid to the saucepan and add sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Allow the tamarind drink to cool.
- Refrigerate the tamarind drink until chilled. Serve over ice cubes.
