Tambda Rassa (तांबडा रस्सा)

Ingredients

  • 500g mutton, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut
  • 4-5 garlic cloves
  • 1-inch ginger
  • 4-5 dry red chilies
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2-3 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Grind the grated coconut, garlic, ginger, dry red chilies, coriander seeds, and cumin seeds to a fine paste.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
  3. Add the mutton pieces and cook until they are browned.
  4. Add the ground paste, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
  5. Add water and pressure cook until the mutton is tender.
  6. Once done, adjust the consistency of the curry and simmer for a few more minutes.
  7. Serve hot with steamed rice or bhakri.
