Tamparuli Bamboo Shoot Stir-fry

Ingredients

  • 500g bamboo shoots, peeled and sliced
  • 200g chicken breast, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 red chilies, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the cooking oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and stir-fry until fragrant.
  3. Add the sliced onion and red chilies, and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the sliced chicken breast and cook until it turns white.
  5. Add the bamboo shoots, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and salt. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes or until the bamboo shoots are tender.
  6. Adjust the seasoning according to your taste.
  7. Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot with steamed rice.
