Tandir Kabob (fragrant Herb-stuffed Beef)
Tandir Kabob is a traditional Uzbek dish that features fragrant herb-stuffed beef, slow-cooked to perfection. This flavorful and aromatic dish is a favorite at special occasions and gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef, cut into large chunks
- 1 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the cilantro, parsley, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, black pepper, and salt to create the herb stuffing.
- Cut a pocket into each beef chunk and stuff with the herb mixture.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sear the stuffed beef chunks until browned on all sides.
- Add water to the pot, cover, and cook over low heat for 3 hours, or until the beef is tender.
- Serve the Tandir Kabob hot, accompanied by rice or flatbread.
