Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, and sugar together.
- Dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Pour the yeast mixture into the flour and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Preheat the tandoor oven to high heat.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and shape them into balls.
- Flatten each ball into a disc and place them on the tandoor oven wall, pressing gently to adhere.
- Cook for 3-5 minutes until the bread puffs up and is cooked through.
- Remove from the tandoor oven and serve hot.
