Tandoori Chicken Tikka

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs (700g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp tandoori masala
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, cut into wedges
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, tandoori masala, ginger-garlic paste, ground cumin, ground coriander, cayenne pepper, turmeric, salt, and lemon juice.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken pieces and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until fully cooked and slightly charred.
  4. Add the onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, until they are slightly softened.
  5. Remove from heat and serve the Tandoori Chicken Tikka hot, garnished with fresh cilantro and lemon wedges.
